I know. He isn't a Royal, and has little chance of ever being one. To link this talented pitcher to Kansas City would be a long a drawn out process. But to link him to myself, on a basis of the fact that I write about baseball.... Pretty easy. So if you will indulge me, I will proceed.
I have been reading about Tim Lincecum, seeing interviews, and watching high lights of him; but I had yet to watch him pitch a game. I recieved the opportunity by indulging in the 1st game of the Giant's Post Season against the Atlanta Braves- and I took it up. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. The Braves were only able to get two hits on the guy in nine innings, and his wind-up showed me that in a short, skinny, guy can pitch at high velocity and get ton of movement on the ball.
As I became more interested in him after watching him pitch, I found he and I had more in common with him than just having long hair and being named Tim. His nick name is "The Freak", just as my former classmates and co-workers entitle me. He also does not like crowds and prefers his work to speak for him, just like me. I just do my work with a keyboard instead of a ball and glove
Good luck Tim Lincecum and the SF Giants and you chase The Pennant and the World Series Title.
