The first two games for the Royals in Motor City were as rough as they have been all season. Two total blow outs, after success in three consecutive extra inning games in 24 hours at home, was crushing. Game three did not look to be any more promising with Sean O'Sullivan giving up runs early in the game to leave the Royals trailing into the middle of the game.
This was until first baseman Kila Ka'aihue made some noise to tie the game at 3. Neither team could sore again untill late in extra innings. Both teams could not seal the deal leaving men on base in inning after inning. Then, Willie Bloomquist hots a solo home run to take the lead. To the Bottom of the 9th Royals manager puts out closer Joakim Soria where the Tigers were unable to reach base in their three attempts, with the Royals going on to win the game.
